Kagami Crystal was founded in 1934 by Kozo Kagami as Japan's first manufacturer specialising in crystal glass.

Nonetheless, in 1943, Kagami won its most prominent designation and became an official supplier to the Imperial Household Agency, which serves Japan's Imperial Family. This pair of rock glasses seamlessly blends two iconic elements from the Edo period, the 'Koten Kiku' (Classical Chrysanthemum) and Edo Kiriko, into its design.

The 'Edo Kiku' is distinguished by its characteristic of standing upright after its petals have fully bloomed flat, symbolizing growth and prosperity. Incorporated into the design is the traditional Edo Kiriko motif of 'Asanoha Mon' (Hemp Leaf Pattern), which carries auspicious meanings of wishing for growth and success.

The fusion of these two traditions results in a pair of glasses imbued with favourable symbolism, making them not only visually captivating but also culturally significant pieces that bring an essence of good fortune to any drinking experience.
