Looking for a sustainable solution is at the top of our to-do list since we started. As part of the community, we believe we need to make our efforts to be responsible for society and the environment. So may I humbly suggest the following plan.
Eco-friendly packing
Reducing, reusing and recycling is what we do.
To make our effort to the environment, we recycle foam wraps and bubble wraps from our suppliers used for us in Japan and give them a second-life to carefully pack the inner layer of your items.
In addition to the inner layer, we put enough cushioning around the items to make sure they are not moving or damaged. We use a 100% recyclable, renewable and biodegradable cardboard packaging to achieve that goal. Besides, it looks much better than multiple layers of bubble wraps.
Environmentally friendly shipping
We are using Australia Post as our postage company. We believe Australia Post had done a tremendous job on the environment for the past years. They have various plans regarding sustainable packaging, electric transport, fuel reduction programs and so on. On 30/7/2020, they set new, ambitious environmental targets for the next five years. We believed they are the most efficient and environmentally friendly in Australia, that's why we chose them.
Why don't we offer free shipping for express shipping?
Express shipping not just more expensive, they are more carbon-intensive. A recent study addresses the environmental impact of speed deliveries have a more massive carbon footprint than slower ones.
However, we do understand you might need some product for urgent use. After you placed an order, contact us if you need express shipping, we will reply you within hours and give you a quote for switch.
Why do we do hand delivery in Victoria Metro area?
First of all, hand delivery is safer than post. We don't want to see our beautiful product in more than one piece. To us, it is not just a product. It is the handwork of every artisan behind.
Secondly, we reduce the unnecessary packaging that needed for postage. Instead of praying that delivery guy can treat the parcel gently, why not do it ourselves if we can.
Lastly, efficient is what we want to achieve. Even though 90% parcels of Australia Post arrive on time, you still cannot know when exactly it is coming. Hand delivery gives certainty as we would let you know at exactly time when we are coming.
However, we still can do posting if you want. Please place a note in the order if you wish to postage instead of hand delivery.
