Matcha Bowl - Sunrise / 抹茶碗 朝焼け

Made in Gifu Prefecture (岐阜県), Japan, the home of Mino ware, which has 1,300 years of history.

The shape of this matcha bowl is a waisted type, one of the most ergonomic and comfortable shapes to hold. Like the half-cylindrical type, it is easy to whisk in, but its 'waist' (which gives the shape its name) forms a groove for your fingers when whisking or holding the bowl with both hands.

With its textured base and solid weight, the bowl sits steadily on any surface, making it ideal for matcha lovers.

It is also a worthy addition to any matcha lover's collection, thanks to the beauty of the two-colour (amber yellow and salmon pink) combination of natural glaze on top of the handmade chawan(茶碗). These two colours also have different textures. The amber yellow has a smooth glaze, while the salmon pink has a more earthy texture.

All Pottery Matcha Bowl products are wholly handmade in Japan. Each piece is unique; slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
