Hand-Painted Tokoname Teapot - 240 ml - Spring Bell / 常滑急須
Uncover the exquisite artistry of Tokoname, one of Japan's six oldest kilns. Tucked away in Aichi Prefecture, on the picturesque west coast of the Chita Peninsula, Tokoname City boasts a millennium-long heritage.
Serving as the portal to the Central Japan International Airport (Centrair), this enchanting town is celebrated throughout Japan for its pottery tradition. Tokoname ware, with a profound history spanning 1,000 years, stands as a testament to Japan's unparalleled ceramic craftsmanship.
With its sculptural, gourd-like shape and delicate hand-painted sakura blossoms, this Tokoname teapot offers both charm and practicality. Made from iron-rich red clay and fired at 1100°C, it features a fine stainless steel strainer perfect for deep-steamed teas. Ideal for one to two servings, this kyusu turns even small tea moments into something quietly special.
Each piece carries the weight of time-honoured techniques and skills passed down through generations, making it a timeless addition to your home.
As every piece has its handmade feature, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
