Mizore Sake Glass with Saucer Gift Set - Chojugiga / こぼし酒 鳥獣戯画

The glass wears a mizore finish / みぞれ仕上げ — a fine, frosted texture like sleet caught mid-fall — traced with figures from Chojugiga / 鳥獣戯画, the centuries-old scroll of frolicking rabbits, frogs and monkeys caught mid-wrestle in fine line. A touch of gold leaf settles near the rim, and the glass is filled generously, koboshi-style, so it spills gently into the Mino ware saucer beneath. It's a playful pour for a piece with real history behind it.

As every piece has its handmade feature, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
