Mino ware Chawanmushi Bowl With Lid - Blue Flower / 茶碗蒸し碗
Mino ware (美濃焼) has been made in Gifu Prefecture (岐阜県), central Japan, for over 1,300 years — one of the oldest and most prolific ceramic traditions in the country.
The blue flower motif sits against the white porcelain with the kind of quiet confidence that comes from a long tradition — this style of underglaze decoration has been part of Mino ware for centuries, and it still feels right. At 180ml, this is a generously sized chawanmushi bowl, with a little more room than the standard, and the lid keeps things warm through an unhurried meal. It moves easily between an everyday dinner and a table set for guests.
As every piece has its handmade feature, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
