Mino ware Chawanmushi Bowl With Lid - Black Gradient / 茶碗蒸し碗
Mino ware (美濃焼) has been made in Gifu Prefecture (岐阜県), central Japan, for over 1,300 years — one of the oldest and most prolific ceramic traditions in the country.
Where most chawanmushi bowls in this range lean on pattern, this one relies entirely on glaze — a gradient that moves from near-black at the top to something softer below, with the kind of depth that's difficult to achieve and easy to appreciate. It's a more contemporary-feeling piece, but still very much at home in a Japanese table setting. The fitted lid and compact 140ml capacity keep it true to its purpose.
As every piece has its handmade feature, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
