MARUHIRO - Aerial Garden Deep Plate - 24 cm / マルヒロ 空中庭園

Inspired by the eccentric late Imari ware "Platter", it is a platter with a world view full of exoticism, incorporating elements of different times and cultures into its sophisticated Japanese design elements. Various motifs related to "Kuchu Teien Observatory", such as clouds, moon phases, butterflies, and octagrams, are studded.

To reproduce the strikingly beautiful contrast between blue and white dyed at that time, Maruhiro and the kiln were particular about the formulation of the paints and repeated trial production many times to finally complete it.

The edges are lined with a green overpaint that tightens the whole, mixing traditional dyeing with modern elements.

Since the blue paint part is painted by copper plate transfer, bleeding, chipping, misalignment, etc., may be seen in the print, but please enjoy it as a taste of the product. please not use it in a dishwasher. The paint may come off or discolour due to the ingredients contained in the detergent or the strong water pressure. Please wash it gently with a soft sponge.

As every piece has its handmade feature, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
