MARUHIRO - Floating Garden Venus - Single Stem Vase / マルヒロ 一輪挿し

Floating Garden Venus is a sculptural single-stem vase designed to be appreciated even without flowers. Its circular body and short neck subtly reference the Venus symbol—an enduring emblem of love, beauty, and femininity. Calm and balanced in form, it brings a quiet presence to any space.

Made in Hasami, Japan, the vase is finished in a soft white glaze with fine natural crackle lines. These delicate lines form during firing and gradually become more expressive over time. A special ink can be gently applied to the surface, allowing the pattern to emerge in a way that is entirely unique to each piece.

The Floating Garden collection is created by BARBAR, a Hasami-based studio known for reinterpreting historical Japanese ceramics through a contemporary lens. Produced by Maruhiro, a long-established ceramics maker in Hasami Town, the collection draws inspiration from over 400 years of porcelain history while imagining a timeless, floating world beyond era or culture.

A thoughtful object that balances symbolism, craftsmanship, and personal expression—whether holding a single stem or standing beautifully on its own.

As every piece has its handmade feature, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
