Kutani ware (九谷焼) is a traditional craft of Ishikawa prefecture(石川県) with a history of over 360 years. The beauty of nature, brilliant colour and fine calligraphy are the key features of this style of Japanese pottery. 

These mug cups feature Hanazume Style, a style that covers hand-painted flowers on the surface and is outlined with gold paints. It is a traditional technique of Kutani ware, introduced by Shiro Mizuta in 1913. Since that time, it has come a representative of Kutani ware.
