KOGIN Series - Chopsticks - 2 Colour Options
This design is called “Kogin” (こぎん刺し) in Japanese. It is a pattern of embroidery.
“Kogin” was born in Aomori(青森県津軽地方) 300 years ago(Edo century/江戸時代).
Aomori is a frigid place in Japan during winters. Citizens created this embroidery and used it on clothes and quilts. Because of the pattern and the use of materials, it helped citizens to endure the long freezing winters comfortably and warmly.
On the tip of each chopstick, there is a non-slip finish so you can grab your food easier.
As every piece has its handmade feature, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
