Kaneko Pottery Giyaman Series / 14.5 cm Plate - Chestnut Brown

Established in 1921, the 'Little Solider' kiln/Kaneko Kohyo has provided quality tableware for one century.

The Giyaman series tableware is part of the Wonder 500 in Japan. Wonder 500 a project that aims to discover unique local Japanese products. The Giyaman series tableware was selected by 30 experts and public voting.

One story about this series: Chef Jean-Francois Piege discovered Giyaman at the Paris head office of Christian Dior dates back to 2010. Chef Piege reflects back on the moment. “I was stunned by the gracious curves, the gloss reminiscent of glass, and the sophisticated colours, it was almost too much beauty.”

It is a very functional plate that is hard and barely unbreakable from day-to-day use. It is also a beautiful plate that can make dishes more presentable. 

As every piece has its handmade feature, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
