Japanese Seasoning Tool - Suribachi and Surikogi - 16 cm - 2 Colours
Suribachi (grinding bowl) and Surikogi (grind powder wood) is a Japanese mortar and pestle. They are used for crushing different ingredients, such as sesame seeds in Japanese cooking.
The Suribachi is a pottery mortar with a single mouth. It is also recommended for making your favourite sauce and dressing. Both the glaze on the outside and the shaving inside the bowl are manually crafted by artisans.
Each piece is meticulously hand-combed by artisans, showcasing the dedication and skill inherent to the production of grating ware.
As the whole piece is handmade in Japan, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
