タコ唐草(Tako Karakusa) Series Background:

"タコ(Tako)" means "octopus.". And "唐草(Karakusa)" means decorative arabesques, especially those with circular or spiralling vines. 

Since the leaves look like the suction part of an octopus, the drawing pattern is named as "タコ唐草(Tako Karakusa)".

On the other hand, the pronunciation of the octopus (TAKO) in Japanese is similar to "euphoria/ 多幸(TAKOU)". So, it has been used as an auspicious pattern for a long time.

This square plate weighs around 800 grams giving a strong presence. It is a large plate that is big enough for your signature dishes to be shared on the dining table.
