Hinoki Wood Cooking Chopsticks - Square with String

Hinoki, a species of cypress native to central Japan in East Asia, has been a precious wood since ancient times in Japan for building shrines. Because of its water-repellent surface, the Japanese “Hinoki” cypress is a typical material but more luxurious for making wooden tools in families.

Hinoki wood is also known for its strength and antibacterial characteristics. 

The cooking chopsticks are made by traditional handcrafting techniques. Opening the package, you can feel the unique scent of the hinoki, a great combination of rice and other food. 

The square tipping point gives a good non-slip effect. It also comes with a string to make it easier to store. 

As the whole piece is handmade in Japan, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
