Apple Flower Single Glass Bowl - Two Colour Options

Founded in 1949 in Aomori Prefecture(青森県), Hokuyo Glass(北洋硝子) is now designated for making "Tsugaru Vidro/津軽びいどろ". One of the main features of the Vidro is the "colours with senses of seasonality" created by combining more than 100 colours to create a memorable moment of beautiful scenery.

However, it was not easy for the achievement. In the northernmost part of Honshu(本州), Japan, Aomori Prefecture was geographically disadvantaged due to inconvenient transportation. Therefore, they had no choice but to prepare raw materials such as coloured glasses in-house, which requires a high level of crafting skills. The current "Tsugaru Vidro" is the result of continuous efforts to create new technologies, unique designs, shades and a combination of old traditions and innovations.

"Tsugaru Vidro" is now known all over the world and has become famous. Even so, the factory is still in Aomori prefecture with the same appearance as before. And in there, the artisans are still manufacturing quality, beautiful crafts and innovating new techniques every day.

This series is inspired by Apple. They are the fruit representative of Aomori. Apple pair bowl depicts the cuteness and pretty colours of apples.

It is suitable as a cold dish bowl, side dish bowl, fruit bowl, ice-cream bowl, yogurt bowl etc. 

As the whole piece is handmade in Japan, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
