Fujin-Raijin Sake Glass Pair Set / 風神雷神 盃セット

The drawing "The Folding Screen of Fujin and Raijin" by Sotatsu Tawaraya is a masterpiece of the Edo period. He used gold luxuriously as a background, creating a pleasing atmosphere. 

Fujin - the Japanese God of Wind, and Raijin - the Japanese God of thunder, are known as both feared and respected Japanese deities. In this drawing, Sotatsu made them look fun with friendly faces. 

The cups are featured in a beautiful and easy-grabbing shape.

As the whole piece is handmade in Japan, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
