Description

"Urashima Taro / 浦島太郎" is a well-known Japanese folktale about a fisherman named Urashima Taro who saves a small turtle from some children teasing it while fishing. In gratitude, the turtle invites Urashima to visit the undersea palace of the Dragon God. While there, Urashima falls in love with a princess and spends several happy days with her. When he decides to return to his village, the princess gives him a box as a farewell gift, warning him never to open it.

Upon his return to his village, Urashima discovers that everything has changed and that hundreds of years have passed in his absence. In his grief, he opens the box and is instantly transformed into an older man. Realizing his mistake, Urashima tries to return to the undersea palace, but it is too late. He had broken the trust of the princess and could never return.
