Seto Togeisha is a long-established ceramics workshop based in Seto, one of Japan’s most historic pottery towns. For decades, they have been dedicated to creating ceramic ornaments that carry wishes, symbolism, and seasonal meaning—most notably their annual zodiac animals.
What makes their work especially rare today is that almost every step is done under one roof: from original design and sculpting, mould-making, clay casting, and firing, through to hand-painting and final finishing by skilled artisans. Over the years, we’ve built a close, long-term relationship with Seto Togeisha and have visited their workshop in person, witnessing this entire process firsthand.
