Kinsai Pair Water Glass - Cosmopolitan Shape - Saiboku(彩墨) - Set of 2
Founded in 1949 in Aomori Prefecture(青森県), Hokuyo Glass(北洋硝子) is now designated for making "Tsugaru Vidro/津軽びいどろ". One of the main features of the Vidro is the "colours with senses of seasonality" created by combining more than 100 colours to create a memorable moment of beautiful scenery.
Kinsai means golden decoration in Japanese. It represents the gold leaf on the rim of the glass, with a sense of nobleness. At the bottom of the glasses, different colours are carefully melted and dyed by skilled artisans. The rough texture outside the glasses provides resistance, so it fits solidly in your hand.
The glass size can fit a decent amount of ice with your favourite drinks for a relaxing time.
Compared to the rock shape glasses, the cosmopolitan shape has a wider rim and a smoother curve from the bottom to the top, adding a bonus to this amazing glass.
As the whole piece is handmade in Japan, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
