TAKO / タコ唐草 - Hand-painted Three Feet Bowl

TAKO / タコ唐草 - Hand-painted Three Feet Bowl

TAKO / タコ唐草 - Hand-painted Three Feet Bowl

A bowl is characterized by its irregular curved shape and three feet. It is also heavyweight, hand-painted drawings and has handmade textures.

タコ唐草(Tako Karakusa) Series Background:

"タコ(Tako)" means "octopus.". And "唐草(Karakusa)" means decorative arabesques, especially those with circular or spiralling vines.

Since the leaves look like the suction part of an octopus, the drawing pattern is named as "タコ唐草(Tako Karakusa)".

On the other hand, the pronunciation of the octopus (TAKO) in Japanese is similar to "euphoria/ 多幸(TAKOU)". So, it has been used as an auspicious pattern for a long time.

The heavyweight gives a strong presence. This size is great for daily fruit, salad bowl, or side dishes.

As every piece has its handmade feature, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
